I can appreciate that if someone wants to simply create music,
without any concern for licensing and such, that using windows
and a proprietary application that "just works" is not an
entirely bad move. I have a friend with a Mac system and he
can create really really professional sounding songs.

However, I have faith that a linux audio system will provide
an entirely adequate system... eventually. For me, that main
thing still missing is what this list is all about... and I
mean 24/96 hifi instruments, not just instruments that sound
okay... I mean sound excellent... good enough to do 5.1/7.1
movie tracks with to go on DVD.
